Emergency Assistance to non-public schools

Mission:

To provide services and assistance to eligible private schools to address educational disruptions caused by COVID-19. Your state education agency (SEA) is in charge of administering funds and will prioritize assistance to schools most impacted by COVID-19.

To determine which schools need aid the most, they’ll look at:

  • Loss of learning due to COVID-19
  • Lack of capacity or technology to provide remote learning
  • Loss of tuition revenue
  • and Enrollment decline

Who It Applies To:

Non-Public Schools

Your school is eligible if you:

  • Are a nonprofit organization
  • Are accredited, licensed, and operating in accordance with state law
  • Enroll a significant percentage of students from low-income families
  • Were founded before March 13, 2020
  • Have not received a Paycheck Protection Plan (PPP2) loan

Elementary & Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund

To provide states with both funding and streamlined waivers to give state educational agencies (SEAs) necessary flexibilities to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Public Elementary & Secondary Schools

Ensure students with disabilities receive a free and appropriate public education.

Who It Applies To:

IDEA governs how states and public agencies provide early intervention, special education, and related services to eligible infants, toddlers, children, and youth with disabilities.

Who It Applies To:

Districts most often use Title II Part A funds to provide professional development. Other common uses include reducing class sizes and recruiting and retaining effective teachers and principals.

Schools use these funds to implement language instruction educational programs designed to help LEP students achieve these standards. State educational agencies (SEAs), local educational agencies (LEAs), and schools are accountable for increasing the English proficiency and core academic content knowledge of LEP students.
