What does being kind mean to you?
November 13th, 2019 marks World Kindness Day, which brought forth questions on the subject at hand.
“The purpose of World Kindness Day is to highlight good deeds in the community, focusing on the positive power and the common thread of kindness that binds us.”
Huffington Post
As a team filled with past educators, parents, hard-workers, and friends, we asked ourselves…
How do we spread kindness?
Below, I have quoted our staff with little time to respond in order to receive a real and raw answer.
“I like to roll my window down at stoplights and tell the person next to me to have a great day!” – Tonya, School Safety Consultant
“I show kindness by smiling at random people anywhere. A smile is like a kindness universal language like music. It lasts only a second and stays with the person forever. “ – Sandra, Customer Success
“Kind words can be short and easy to speak but their echoes are truly endless” ~ Mother Theresa. No one forgets Kindness showered on them and this experience has helped us always find a friend in our customers!” – Chitra, COO
“Empathy for me is the bedrock of Kindness” The best way to be kind is to empathize with everyone around you.” – Pat Bhava, CEO
“I buy Emily lunch and she buys me cookies because we love each other #bestie” – Natalie
“I show acts of kindness by being helpful and going out of my way even if I am in the middle of something. I also like to compliment people by saying something nice to them.” – Claudette, Implementation Specialist
“I like to buy the person behind me a coffee at the Dunkin drive-through. I always hope they keep it going, I once had someone do it for me and it made my day.” – Emily, Marketing Director
“I volunteer at an Equine Therapy Center for mentally and physically challenged individuals. I spend a lot of my time working with children on horseback and we practice kindness, understanding, and helpfulness. Kindness comes in many forms— a listening ear, a helpful hand, or even just a kind smile can turn around someone’s day.“ – Sydney, Implementation Director
Overall, it is great to have a conversation on what we can do for each other to spread kindness. Sometimes, it could make someone’s day without you even knowing it. We enjoyed discussing the topic and suggest you do the same with your teammates, students, family, or friends. Post how you spread kindness in the comments below.
