We are excited to announce the release of the latest version of the Pikmykid school portal!  With the update, school users will not experience any changes to the functionality of the system features they are used to, however, they will notice the layout of some pages have been refreshed and some new features have been added. 

Let’s start by taking a look at the new portal features!

Portal Search Option

With the portal update, staff will notice a new search option. This feature enables staff to quickly view student information throughout the school day. Located at the top of various pages within the portal, the magnifying glass icon allows staff to easily check attendance, guardian details, and any dismissal changes for the day.

Light and Dark Mode

School staff now have the option to switch between light and dark modes according to their personal preference, offering a valuable enhancement to the overall user experience.

Setting Filters

School Administrators now have the ability to filter information displayed on the page within several different settings including Bus Routes, After School programs and Staff.

Messenger

Users will notice a layout change to the Messenger page and also the ability to choose between sending an email OR push notification (push will only be sent to parents who are registered on the Pikmykid Parent app). After choosing the message type, staff will be prompted to select the recipients of the message, preview the recipients and then confirm all information prior to sending.

Let’s now do a quick overview of the layout updates- school users will notice most of these updates take place within the settings. 

General Settings 

  • The menu is now located at the top of the page rather than on the left.

Emergency Settings

  • The menu is now located at the top of the page rather than on the left.  
  • Specific details of each Emergency Messages can be viewed using the (>) icon. 
  • To see all contacts in an Emergency Contact Group, or to add a contact to an existing group, click on the group name. 
  • On the Emergency History page, admin will select a date from a calendar to view the message history rather than selecting from a calendar dropdown.

Hall Pass Settings

  • The menu is now located at the top of the page rather than on the left. 
  • Specific details of each Hall Pass Room, Hall Pass Staff and Restriction Group can be viewed using the (>) icon.

Dismissal Progress

  • Staff will still be able to sort for specific information on the Dismissal Progress page, however users will notice a new look to the filter button for a better viewing experience across devices.

Hall Pass

  • Hall Pass users will now see a dashboard summary when they access the Hall Pass system. From this summary, staff have the option to view All Passes or My Passes Only
  • Passes can be managed by selecting Manage Hall Pass and using the filter option to view specific pass data.
